Field Trip - Shamva - Tony Martin

On 30 November 2019 Tony Martin led a trip to the Shanva Areas.The field trip covered outcrops of porphyritic granite, the Umwindsi Shear Zone and parts of the Shamvaian Group within the Shamva Greenstone Belt.

30 members participated.

Trip - Arcadia Lithium Project

On 7th June 2019 Prospect Resources hosted 25 members of the Geological Society of Zimbabwe at their Arcadia Lithium Project.

Arcadia lies 38km east of Harare in the Harare Greenstone Belt

Roger Tyler and Adam Moodley, our hosts explained how drilling of 12 000m of diamond core and more than 15 000m of reverse circulation has revealed multiple stacked, flat-lying pegmatites with little surface outcrop.

Field Trip - Shamva - Macgregor Memorial 2019 - Hielke Jelsma

On Saturday 18th May Hielke Jelsma led a field trip to the Shamva Greenstone Belt.

The trip was attended by 30 members and covered the following areas/

‐ Explored the extraordinary geology of the Shamva greenstone belt with classic outcrop localities along the Mazowe River.
